think if you went for most dissappointing next-gen game, you'd have to include heavenly sword in there somewhere. It tries to be god of war on so many levels and fails on almost all of them!
i own RFOM, and i have to say i'm not that impressed. Cant really put my finger on it really - its like a poor mans COD2 with wierd alien guns (which i have to admit i'm really tired of now, give me an m16 carbine any time!)

i quite liked pdz actually - multiplayer was great fun - i preferred it to halo 2 online as i liked the slower pacing - it made it slightly more tactical (not much, i'll admit).
I just finished AC and while it did get somewhat tedious toward the end (i finished the last section of jerusalem including all the sub missions and high points in less than 20 minutes because i was so used to the formula) i still think its a very good game. Dissappointing only because of the hype, but ...
i thought ocarina of time got rated higher...
i'm sure the only people that think m$ are involved are those ignorant sony fanboys who keep popping up round here. Sony are perfectly capable of underhand tricks themselves too, neither company showers themself in glory very much if we're all honest.

not only that, if you put yourself in the position of a parent (not that i'm one) of a young(ish) child - ninty is almost the only choice. You *might* buy a 360 arcade, but its unlikely. However you're very unlikely to buy a ps3. Thats a large market almost completely closed to it immediately.
I have faith in sony enough to believe they've factored in a bad(ish) xmas this year into their investments in the platform for next year, as another year lacking in games, dissappointing...
I'm not a fanboy, i own both consoles, but i think its important to remember that not only was the xbox a lot later than the ps2 to market, but it was also a first attempt by m$ that didnt do well in japan because of its breeze-block styling, and didnt really have a great deal of killer games to speak of.
Surely if you think about it its only a good thing if both consoles do well? more money for the games publishers from multi-format sales means more investment into big-budget...
get the feeling they are working for decent market share in the US first - i'd just import one to be honest. If/when my nano finally gives up the ghost i might try getting one myself - especially given the strength of the £/$ right now.
Stop posting reviews about this game and petition those fools at sony to release this sooner! Its not out in the UK till december 7th!!!!!!!!! ARGGGGG

Gameswise, right now you have to go for the 360. Multiplatform games arrive earlier, are (generally, but certainly not always) more stable graphically, and are better on-line (xbox live is well worth paying for compared to psn right now), and the exclusives are still far in excess of what the ps3 has to offer (despite some good recent release...
Ditto - the only game i played towards the end of my ps2's life was pro evolution soccer 5. I couldnt stop playing ninja gaiden and halo 2 on my old xbox, and thats what made me prefer the console.
Right now i prefer my 360 because i have so many games i love on it - doesnt mean the ps3 isnt a very decent piece of kit (and R&C is superb fun, despite being ridiculously easy)
Its very interesting to read that the xbox has the better gpu - i certainly didnt realise that. I had assumed that the recent occurances of framerate issues (for instance in games by EA sports) was more to do with the developers familiarity with the hardware and development kits.
Doesnt take away however, from the fact that as the article says, the ps3 will improve, just like the ps2 did. I mean, try comparing the graphics from Tekken Tag Tournament or SSX to those of God of w...
you know what annoys me more than 360 fanboys slating this game, and ps3 fanboys gloating they've finally got a great game to play? The fact I cant buy it for another 2 weeks until it comes out in the UK!!!!!!! (Unless i import it of course, but i kind of have to finish mass effect first...)

This partly reflects the fact that at the moment the PS3 is still harder to develop for (or so rumors would have you believe). The texture comparison i saw on this site a while back would suggest almost no difference graphically (although not having seen them run side-by-side makes it hard to judge).
